Cabinda – The new General Labor Law (LGT), recently promulgated by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, and which comes into force this March, renews the commitment to the fundamental rights of workers, said the provincial governor of Cabinda, Mara Quiosa.
Speaking at the presentation seminar of the “New General Labor Law”, which has been taking place since Monday in the auditorium of the Liceu de Cabinda, Mara Quiosa said that the diploma establishes a set of rules and regulations that aim to protect and promote working conditions of the workers.
For the governor, this law encourages sustainable economic growth and business competitiveness, taking into account that it promotes equality of opportunity.
She indicated that it will contribute to combating discrimination based on gender, ethnic origin, religion, age, disability or any other condition that prevents treatment with dignity and respect.
“In addition, the new law strengthens mechanisms for protecting workers’ rights, establishing clear standards for issues such as working hours, fair remuneration, occupational safety and health”, she clarified.
The seminar lasts three days and brings together managers from public and private companies, trade-unions, academics, among others.
