Cabinda - The governor of the province of Cabinda, Mara Quiosa, instructed public transport operators on Tuesday to invest in new routes, giving priorities to school and house project areas.
Maria Quiosa made these statements to the press at the end of the ceremony to hand over 14 buses to four public transport operators.
To this end, she advised the beneficiaries to provide a quality service to the population and to contribute to the significant reduction in the flow of passengers, the majority of whom are students who travel long distances to attend classes.
“It was this guidance that we left to new operators in the public transport sector. They should explore new routes, especially those that connect urban projects”, she stressed.
She guaranteed that the province's public transport services will be extended to the remaining municipalities, but, for now, the priority is for the province's headquarters, which covers more than 80% of the population.
According to 2018 population projections, prepared by the National Statistics Institute, the province of Cabinda has a population of 801,374 inhabitants and a territorial area of 7,283 km². JFC/VM/CF/DOJ
