Malanje - Three hundred families affected by the heavy rains registered from November 2023 to January this year in Malanje Province benefited last weekend from aid from the Angolan Red Cross (CVA), as part of the Emergency Project to Response to the Impact of Floods.
These are 200 families from the municipality of Malanje and 100 from Cangandala, who received 86.000Kz ($103,3), in order to contribute to the rehabilitation of their respective homes, as revealed today to ANGOP by the provincial secretary of the CVA in Malanje, Teresa Manuel.
She highlighted that the initiative is funded by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and also covers the humanitarian component, with emphasis on health, water and sanitation.
It should be remembered that since November last year, the province of Malanje has been experiencing constant rain, which has so far caused the destruction of 3.596 houses and left the same number of homeless families.
The Red Cross of Angola is a non-profit humanitarian institution, turned to social assistance and public utility objectives, constituted in accordance with the Angolan law and the Geneva Conventions, of which Angola is a party.
