Ndalatando – Twenty-seven groups involved in various crimes, with emphasis on robberies and thefts, in Cuanza Norte province, were dismantled by the defense and security forces during the year 2023.
The information was provided on Friday, in Ndalatando, by the delegate of the Home Affairs Ministry in Cuanza Norte, António do Rosário Neto, during the end-of-year greetings ceremony.
According to the police officer, during the year, 2,474 crimes were recorded in the province, 436 less compared to 2022.
In the same period, 1,697 national and foreign citizens were arrested as alleged perpetrators of these crimes.
António do Rosário Neto reported that, within the scope of road accidents, there were 423 accidents in the province that resulted in 131 deaths, 619 injuries and material damage valued at 493 million and 857 thousand Kwanzas.
He specified that as part of the improvement of social, working and living conditions of the workforce, the “Rosa de Porcelana” housing project was officially opened, with 200 houses of the T3 typology.
For the year 2024, according to the officer, the institution will focus on strengthening actions to prevent and combat illicit trafficking in firearms, drugs, diamond mining and other precious metals, as well as public security.
Carrying out activities aimed at reducing road accidents, as well as proximity policing, are also part of the bets for next year. EFM/DS/OHA/DOJ
