Caxito - The Bengo provincial governor, Mara Quiosa, on Tuesday considered the construction of a new Bengo General Hospital as an added value.
Reacting to the presidential order authorising the construction and equipping of a new general hospital in the city of Caxito, Mara Quiosa said that the current provincial hospital had a very old infrastructure that did not make sense to have it as a reference.
The governor said that the provincial government had carried out some improvements, notably the emergency ward, which was inaugurated on 4 February, but the paediatric and maternity areas were still in a very bad state.
In the Presidential Dispatch no. 53/21, of 26 April, João Lourenço authorised expenditure of an estimated total value of USD 63.1 million and the formalisation of the opening of the Simplified Contracting procedure under material criteria for execution of public works contracts.
