Luanda - The government on Saturday announced a ban on citizens entering and leaving Luanda province, as of Monday, 10 November, as part of new measures to prevent and combat Covid-19.

According to the Minister of State and Head of the Civil House of the President of the Republic, Adão de Almeida, until 8 June only duly authorised citizens (on duty, businessmen with goods and services, health, security forces, the sick) may enter and leave Luanda, a province with a health fence.)

As this is the focus of the disease in Angola, the minister said, it is required to present a service document from the employer in order to leave or enter Luanda.

"The presentation of the proof of a negative test is not enough. The work statement issued by the employer will be required for citizens to leave or enter Luanda," the minister added.

Available data indicates the record of 245 new cases, in Luanda, out of a total of 276, in the last 24 hours.

The Angolan capital also registered, in the same period, 15 recovered patients and two deaths.
