INEFOP gives training to more than 88 thousand youngsters

Luanda - The National Institute of Employment and Professional Training (INEFOP) trained 88.671 young people in different areas in 2023, the Minister of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security (MAPTSS), Teresa Rodrigues Dias, informed on Thursday in Luanda. 

According to the minister, who was speaking at the opening of the 2024 training cycle, the training activities were of short, medium and long term duration, linked to the areas of electricity, electronics, quarrying, cutting and sewing, mechanics and IT, among others, focused on improve the training offer, as well as expanding the network of Professional Training Centers throughout the country.

This cycle, she continued, trained 926 inmates and 353 people with disabilities, thus highlighting the efforts of the Executive in the resocialization of those who at a certain point in their life path came into conflict with the law and the social inclusion of people with disabilities.

She said that for this new Training Cycle, the National Professional Training System has 162 Professional Training Centers, supervised by the National Institute of Employment and Professional Training, with an annual training capacity of more than 100,000 citizens.

Teresa Rodrigues Dias highlighted that, in addition to the 162 referenced, the sector also has more than 1,444 private centers, 36 from other Public Entities, such as in the Oil Sector, Construction, Agriculture, Energy, among others.

"We are certain that the qualification of human capital constitutes one of the fundamental axes for the country's socioeconomic development and is a priority action, foreseen in the National Development Plan - PDN 2023 - 2027", she stated.

Under the motto “Modern and inclusive Professional Training, the key to the development of human capital", the event was attended by around 500 trainees.

INEFOP is a body supervised by the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security and has the mission of ensuring the implementation of active labor market policies and the National Professional Training System. LIN/ART/CF/DOJ
