Mbanza Kongo - At least USD 86.7 million has been invested in building infrastructures of social and economic impact in six municipalities in Zaire province, particularly urban roads.
Financed as part of the credit line from the Kingdom of Spain, work on the second phase of urban roads includes paving 20 kilometres of road in the province's six municipal areas.
The contract, which is the responsibility of Globaltec, also includes construction of two administrative buildings and an equal number of schools in the municipality of Mbanza Kongo, as well as construction and refurbishment of two health units in the municipal headquarters of Cuimba and Nóqui.
Eighteen months is the time limit set for these actions, and the contracts were awarded this Friday in the city of Mbanza Kongo.
At the time, the CEO of the Globaltec company, Javier Valero Artala, said that the money and technical conditions for the execution of the work were available.
The governor of Zaire, Pedro Makita Armando Júlia, who honoured the ceremony, called for the contractual deadlines to be met.
He said that this project was part of other programmes of social and economic impact implemented by the Angolan government for the benefit of the population.
The first phase of urban roads carried out between 2015 and 2017 made it possible to pave 30 kilometres of road in the six municipal centres, as well as to build two football pitches in the municipalities of Mbanza Kongo and Nzeto.
