Cuito - At least 1,194 young people were trained in several vocational courses provided by the National Institute of Employment and Professional Training (INEFOP) all over the country in 2022, against the roughly 75,000 in 2021, the INEFOP general director, Manuel Mbangui, told ANGOP Wednesday.
The INEFOP director disclosed the figures during the inauguration of the Integrated Centre for Employment and Professional Training of Cuito, central Bie Province.
There are 1,439 training units operating in the country’s 18 provinces, of which 158 are training centres and the remaining are arts and crafts pavilions, which are assisted by 1,300 trainers controlled by the Ministry of Public Administration, Employment and Social Security (MAPTESS).
Manuel Mbangui said that another 1,119 trainers were sub-contracted by private companies, which supported the training calendar in those specialties that INEFOP did not provide.
Within the scope of including disabled people, 681 citizens were trained, challenges that, according to the INEFOP director general, the institution will continue to embrace.
New Cuito centre to train over 2,000 young people per year
The new integrated training centre of Cuito has plans to train 2,800 young people annually in several specialties, being one of the new aspects the implementation of four new courses, namely training of maids and home decoration, aesthetics, hairdressing and pastry making.
In 2022, Bié Province trained 1,170 young people in the art and craft pavilions located in Cuito, Andulo, Camacupa and Chinguar.
