Ondjiva - The Action Plan for Promotion of Employability (PAPE), in southern Cunene Province has strengthened the skills of young entrepreneurs through the distribution of work kits and micro-credits, some beneficiaries of the project said on Tuesday.

The launching of the PAPE has allowed the delivery of 2,888 kits and micro-credits, as well as the creation of 588 jobs in the six municipalities of Cunene Province.

Speaking to ANGOP, the beneficiary of the manicure and pedicure kit, Júlia Elias, said the means allowed the reactivation of her activity, which was paralyzed due to the lack of working material.

The 24-year-old woman said that with the help of PAPE she was able to get a better structured and equipped space to exercise her profession.

She appealed to other young people to enroll in the PAPE, stressing that with the kit acquired, in 2022, she tripled the number of clients becoming a small entrepreneur.

Eliseu Celestino, another micro-credit beneficiary, said the amount delivered to him was invested in the trade of food products, cosmetics and beverages.

To Miguel Tchavala, PAPE boosted the dynamics of his work activity, stressing that he used to work with his brother and now he has opened his own place.

The Action Plan for the Promotion of Employability (PAPE), approved by the Presidential in April, is one of the lines of action of the executive that aims to increase the levels of employability, as a mechanism to combat poverty and social exclusion.

The Plan also aims to encourage and support entrepreneurs' spirit of initiative, mainly young people and women to value the exercise of professions through the attribution of professional cards and to give opportunity of internships to recently graduated citizens.

The objectives of the Programme, in which young population and women are a priority, will be translated into the concretization of the guidelines foreseen in the National Development Plan - 2018-2022, particularly in the promotion of employability.
