Luanda- Angola’s Vice President of Republic Bornito de Sousa received Wednesday the Angolan researcher André Sinela, with whom he discussed the "Ombuto Yetu" project.
“Ombuto Yetu” is an agro-industrial startup created by the academician, which has been on display at Saison Africa 2020, since this month.
The project consists of the installation of a field school to present solutions for improvement and multiplication of local seeds, as well as the application of good agricultural practices.
André Mundombe Sinela, 32, is the youngest Angolan to achieve a PhD academic degree, according to official data.
He has a PHD in Food Biochemistry from the International Center for Higher Studies in Agronomic Sciences in France and Master in Food Technology from the same institution.
The researcher has also postgraduate degrees in Agribusiness Management from the Royal Agriculture University of UK, and in Agronomic Engineering from José Eduardo dos Santos University, in central Huambo province.
He was a lecturer at the Higher Institute of agribusiness technology in Malanje province.
In addition to Portuguese, he speaks English, French and Spanish.
He benefitted from training co-financed by Angola/France cooperation.
In 2018, he received prize in the category of Academic Highlight of the Project "Angola 35 Graus" and was named the youngest PhD in Angola that year.
Selected by the Next Einstein Forum and the network of French embassies in Africa, André Sinela is part of a group represented by 27 African countries committed to the dissemination of science.
