Luanda - A luxury train from Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, with 60 tourists of various nationalities on board is expected in Luau municipality, Angola’s eastern Moxico province, on Sunday.
In addition to Luau municipality, the route of the train called “Rovos” also covers Luena city (capital of Moxico), Kuito (Bié), Huambo, Cubal (Benguela) and Lobito, where the respective trip ends, on 21st July.
This is the second trip of its kind that this train makes to Angola, the first happened between July and August 2019.
South African company “Rovos Rail” is in charge of the organisation of the tourist event, which in Angola has the support of the Travel and Tourism Agencies Kitanda and Travelgest.
As part of the Hotel and Tourism Development Programme, the arrival of foreign tourists to Angola aims to increase and diversify the hotel and tourist offer in the country.
Here is the itinerary of the luxury train, Rovos:
July 17 – Coming in Luau – 9:00 am (departure 1:00 pm); Arrival at Luena – 8:00 pm.
July18 - departure from Luena - 1:00 pm; arrival in Bié – 8:00 pm.
July 19 - departure from Bié – 1:00 pm; arrival in Huambo – 8:00pm.
July 20 - departure from Huambo – 1:00 pm; arrival at Cubal – 8:00pm.
July 21 - departure from Cubal – 6:00 am; arrival in Lobito –10:00am
