Talatona- The South African tourism representative in Angola, Carolina Guerra, said that her organisation had recorded, in the period between 2021 and the first half of 2022, the entry of an estimated number of over 10,000 Angolans into that country.
She was speaking at a seminar to promote tourism between Angola and South Africa held Wednesday in Luanda by the South African embassy in the country.
Carolina Guerra said that they have been providing Angolan tourists with information about where to stay, what to do during their stay, and mainly work on selling tourism packages to that country.
She said that her organisation is working with some Angolan travel agencies on projects related to knowledge about South Africa, formation of tour packages, creation of a portal linked to the agencies so that they can be directly linked with tourism in that African country.
Speaking to the press after the event, the chargé d'affaires of the South African embassy, Fedie Jordan, made it known that the event served to awaken the importance of his country's relations with Angola in terms of promoting the tourism sector.
According to him, the seminar also served, above all, to promote the image of South Africa as a preferential destination for Angolan tourists.
