Luanda - Over a thousand athletes in representation of fifteen states will be attending the 10th edition of the Southern Africa Regional Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (SARPCCO) Games, set to happen August 3-15, in the Angolan capital, ANGOP has learnt.

Speaking to ANGOP, on the fringes of the ceremony that served to present the event, the organisers’ official in charge of the technical issues sub-commission, Belmiro Carmelino, explained that the event will happen in different sports, such as football, volleyball, chess, netball and athletics.

He informed that the Angolan delegation intends to improve the sixth position achieved in the last event, held in eSwatini (former Swaziland), where Angola conquered 19 medals (12 gold, four silver and three bronze).

ANGOP has learnt that different venues will host the competitions, such as Coqueiros stadium, Interclube Club’s stadium and 28 de Fevereiro pavilion, among others.

The last games, held in eSwatini, were won by Zimbabwe.
