Luanda - The chairman of 1º de Agosto FC, Carlos Hendrick, last Saturday denied contacts in Luanda with Cameroonian coach Lazare Adingono, ruling out the possibility of possible contract with the club.

Speaking to journalists after the inauguration ceremony of the club’s new board for the 2020/24 term, Carlos Hendrick said that the team's technical staff is already defined.

“We are committed to fulfilling the wishes of the founders of this great club, creating the necessary conditions for the development of sport. Our action aims to stabilize the club in all sectors, especially the technical part, placing the staff in the right places. so, Adingono will not be the coach of 1º de Agosto”, he asserted.

Eight years later, Lazare Adingono leaves Petro's basketball team, after a long period of negotiation with the board of the club, which resulted in a non-contractual renewal agreement.

Manuel Sousa Necas took over the technical command of the senior male basketball team, replacing Walter Costa.

The inauguration took place on the 43rd anniversary of the club, founded in 1977.

Carlos Hendrick was elected, in February, with 407 votes in favor, 21 against, 28 abstentions and two blank ballot papers, in a universe of 458 voters.

The general of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) will serve his third term at the helm of the “military club”.
