Malanje - The last two generator turbines of the northern Malanje province-based Lauca hydroelectric dam with a capacity of 333 megawatts of energy each, start operating in full by June this year.

The information was released by the civil construction engineer of the Odebrecht company, Yamba Ambrósio on Saturday.

The engineer said so at the end of the visit by civil society members of northern Malanje province to the project.

The operation of the last two turbines may happen  between June and December of this year, said Yamba Ambrósio, who put the level of physical execution of the work at 90 percent.

Inhabitants of the eastern provinces of the Lunda Norte and Lunda Sul benefit from the energy of the Lauca dam, he said.

The first turbine kicked off in August 2017.
