Huíla: MP defends policies to end hunger in southern region

Matala - The deputy Sampaio Mucanda on Saturday suggested in Matala municipality, Huíla province, the elaboration of structuring policies that improve the use of water resources for agriculture to end hunger in the provinces of Cunene, Namibe and Huíla.


Speaking to Angop, in a visit he made to the municipality, the deputy from the parliamentary group of CASA-CE considered that there was a lack of strategies on the part of the Government to end hunger and poverty in the southern region of the country.

Sampaio Mucanda said that the Cunene River, for example, should be better used for agriculture.

He proposes actions of education and training of the population on the agricultural techniques to obtain greater yields of the land.

He also defended concrete projects in the areas of agro-industry, irrigation, credit to the small farmer, infrastructure to support production and communication, with the support of banks and entrepreneurs with financial capacity.

Apart from Huíla, the deputy visited the provinces of Cunene and Namibe.
