Minimum wage for private sector in Angola set at 30 percent

Luanda - The national minimum wage for the private sector in Angola has been adjusted to 30 percent, the Minister of Public Administration, Labour and Social Security, Jesus Maiato has said.


The minister announced this Friday in Luanda at the meeting of the Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers.

 The current national minimum wage is 16, 503 kwanzas  (USD 52.6) and will reach 21, 454 kwanzas (USD 68.3) for the agriculture sector, 26, 817 kwanzas (USD 85.5) groupings of trade and manufacturing.

 Workers linked to trade and extractive industries will receive 32,181 kwanzas (USD 102.5).
