Angola attends International Diamond Conference

Luanda - Angola attended last Tuesday in Gaborone, the capital city of Botswana, in the International Diamond Conference.

While in Gaborone, the Angolan delegation, headed by the minister of Mineral Resources and Petroleum, Diamantino Azevedo, held meetings with counterparts from Botswana and Namibia to strengthen cooperation.

Topics related to the world diamond market were addressed, such as prospecting, exploration and diamond cutting, as well as the issue of synthetic diamonds.

The minister also held meetings with senior managers of the South African diamonds company De Beers, in which were discussed issues relating to the relationship between this firm and Endiama were discussed.

In addition to the minister, the Angolan delegation included officials from the Geological Institute of Angola (IGEO) and members of the boards of directors of Endiama and Sodiam(Diamonds Trade Society).

At the international diamond conference, minister Diamantino Azevedo and Endiama CEO, Ganga Junior, were the speakers.
