Prodesi registers 186 new requests for credit support

Luanda - The Credit and Sales Committee, a service of the Production Support, Export Diversification and Imports Replacement Programme (Prodesi), registered 186 new requests for credit support in the last week, amounting to 5,000 and 276 since 2019.


The data were revealed on Tuesday, in Luanda, by the secretary of State for the Economy, Mário Caetano João, stressing that of the more than five thousand requests, about two thousand and nine hundred and forty eight met the requirements and are active in the data base.

Speaking at the usual biweekly meeting of the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP), the official stressed that of the assets, 1,308 are in the phase of constitution of the credit file, representing about 45% of the active projects, while under negotiation in the banking sector are 250 projects.

According to the secretary of State, of the total requests for financing made in the past week, 76 have moved to the negotiation phase with the intention of producing corn with 23 intentions, 9 for beans, manioc 24, tomatoes 10 and russet potatoes 10.

Mário Caetano João said that regarding to the credit line for the cooperatives, after sending 91 credit files, 30 more cooperative cases were sent, last week to the Development Bank of Angola (BDA), making a total of 121 delivered Until now.

For this week, more cooperative processes are being instructed to be submitted to the BDA, within the framework of the credit support initiative of the 306 cooperatives selected at national level.

As for projects approved and disbursed during the last week, the number approved increased by 25, totaling more than 344 in 2019 and 307 in 2020.

On the other hand, he said that of the portfolio of projects approved last week, in bank financial institutions, nine have already been disbursed.

Since 2019 to date, a total of AKz 163.1 billion has already been disbursed to the productive sector, having provided the generation of approximately 32,000 direct jobs.

He added that, based on Central Bank 10/20 notice, AKz 141.9 billion were disbursed for 52 projects, plus five new disbursements and other instruments and financial products from commercial banks AKz 574 million for three projects, plus a new one disbursed.

At this time, said the official, there are 250 projects to be approved and 181 to be disbursed, whose numbers and sectors are 90 in the trade sector, 33 agriculture, 21 food and beverage industry, 19 manufacturing industry, six sea fishing, three for continental fishing, livestock and aquaculture, two in the industry sector and one for poultry.
