EU releases 7.8 mln euros to fund cultural projects

Luanda - European Union (EU), through the PROCULTURA PALOP-TL project, released 7.8 million Euros to fund cultural projects in Portuguese-speaking African Countries (Palop) and East Timor.


In its press release reached ANGOP,  EU states that the funding is intended to generate job and income in the sectors such as music, performing arts and child literature.

The package covers entrepreneurship projects in music and performing arts sectors in one or more countries of Palop/East Timor group, in a financing estimated between 20,000 and 35,000 Euros.

The programme foresees to cover the International development of the music and performing arts sectors in two or more countries in the Palop / East Timor group, worth between 500,000 and 1 million euros.

Still, in the international projects for development of the child-juvenile literature sector, in two or more countries in the Palop / East Timor group, the value is estimated at between 300,000 and 600,000 euros.

The profit-making or nonprofit entities (public or private), including companies  registered with one of the Palop /East Timor region, at least two years ago and with activity focused on cultural sector, may qualify for the project. 

Partnerships are also allowed since one of them complies with the previous conditions, including entities established in countries such as in European Union,  ACP group (Africa, Caribbean and Pacific), Brazil, South Africa and Australia, among others. 

The new European Union programme PROCULTURA PALOP-TL contributes to job creation in the cultural and creative sectors of the PALOP countries and Timor-Leste through capacity building and the provision of grants for the development of these sectors, including music, performing arts and youth literature.
