Malanje: INAD hands over field cleared from landmines

Malanje - The National Demining Institute (INAD) delivered on Wednesday to Malanje provincial government a demined field of 2.500 square meters located at Voanvala neighbourhood, outskirts Malanje city, which will enable the construction of an electric substation of 210 Kilowatts from Laúca dam.


When addressing at the act, the deputy governor for political and social affairs, Manuel Campo, who received the area, commended on the commitment of the INAD sappers.

He underlined that the demined space will ensure the free circulation of people, goods and the construction of an appropriated equipment to satisfy people’s living conditions. 

He also explained that the northern Malanje province still has some landmined areas and to uncover these places, it requires the commitment of the administrations without regardless its interaction with INAD.

On his turn, the head of the INAD in Malanje, Marcelina Lima, said that the works lasted 11 months carried out by 23 technicians and demining experts.
