Luanda - The performance of Angola in the Great Lakes Region, specifically in resolving conflicts and strengthening democratic processes, was highlighted on Tuesday by the International Socialist (IS).

The acknowledgment was made by IS Secretary General Luis Ayala at the end of an audience granted by MPLA Vice-President João Lourenço.

Speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, the official said that Angola works for freedom, democracy, human rights, peace and conflict resolution, strengthening democratic processes.

"We are very pleased with the role of Angola in the Great Lakes Region," said Luis Ayala, in the presence of the MPLA Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Julião Mateus Paulo "Dino Matrosse".

He welcomed the policies developed by the Angolan government and, therefore, expressed solidarity and support to the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.

For him, João Lourenço adopted the agenda of peace, as well as the rights, fundamental freedoms and democracy for all.
