Construction works of Huambo cultural center to resume this year

Huambo - Four years after the probable completion date, construction works for the central Huambo Cultural Center, which began in 2011, will resume later this year, said local governor João Baptista Kussumua.


Kussumua who was speaking to journalists  also announced the restart of the central hospital in Huambo, Chilume (Bailundo), Mineira Maternal and Child Center and Ngove locality in Caála.

He also reiterated the start of rehabilitation and asphalting works on the access roads of the youth ward, Sassonde and Macolocolo / Funilweiros, with an extension of 16 kilometers in total, as well as opening of 50 bore holes of drinking water.

João Baptista Kussumua also informed that, within the framework of public investments, the government of Huambo will build, by 2022, 852 new schools, corresponding to 8.100 classrooms, to accommodate more than 364.000 students studying in poor facilities.
