Samba road gets flyover to ease traffic

Luanda - Samba road will gain an overpass in the zone of Corimba this year to improve traffic congestion.

The infrastructure will enable connecting Samba/city center/21 de Janeiro avenue/ Nova Marginal Southwest, without road intercession.

Re-launched Monday by the minister of Construction and Public Works, Manuel Tavares de Almeida, the contract is part of the second phase of the Southwest Marginal, under construction since 2017.

The minister said that contract aims at improving the flow of traffic from the city center to the south zone of Luanda and reduce traffic on some roads, such as those of Samba and 21 de Janeiro.

The minister predicted the completion of works within 18 months, according to the contract.

In turn, the technician of the National Department of Public Infrastructure, attached to the Ministry of Construction and Public Works, Hélder Biala, said the contract will also cover the construction of a 7 km and 800 meter wide road.
