Moxico reports two cases of polio

Luena - Two cases of acute flaccid paralysis were diagnosed in the central province of Moxico, stated last Friday, in Luena, the head of the provincial department of public health, Isabel Pezo Sonhi.


Speaking during the meeting with social partners in the preparation of the polio vaccination campaign, the official said that cases were diagnosed in the Mandembwé and Alto Campo neighborhoods, outside the city of Luena.

Isabel Sonhi recalled that Moxico has not recorded positive cases of acute flaccid paralysis since 2014.

Regardless the polio vaccination campaign that took place on 13, 14 and 15 this month, they plan to vaccinate 152,784 children from zero to five years old, in eight municipalities.
