China strengthens Covid-19 fight support

Luanda - A donation made up of 100,000 masks was offered Friday to the Angolan Government by the Chinese company Yutong Bus due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The batch, which includes a vehicle equipped with equipment to combat Covid-19, was received by minister of Transport, Ricardo D'Abreu.

The materials will be distributed to the most vulnerable groups in this phase of the pandemic in Angola, according to a note from Yutong Bus.

Speaking at the ceremony,  the minister Ricardo D'Abreu considered  China a privileged partner that Angola can count on in difficult situations.

According to the minister, the means received will help mitigate the negative effects caused by the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

In rurn, the director of Yutong Bus, Lúcio Jiang Boya, said that the move fits in the actions that China, through its companies, develops in favour of the suffering peoples.

"China is committed to helping those suffering most and, in this phase of Covid-19, we can only win if we work together and in solidarity," he said.

China is one of Angola's main economic partners, which has so far registered 462 infected with Covid-19. Twenty-three deaths, 118 recovered and 321 active cases.
