Uíge - The traditional authorities of Ambuíla municipality, in the northern Uíge province, Friday asked the provincial government, the resumption of the construction of social projects namely the municipal hospital and a 24-room school halted for five years due to financial problems.

The request was made by the Ambuíla chieftain, Vasco Garcia, at the social consultation meeting, chaired by the provincial governor, Sérgio Luther Rescova, during a visit to the municipality where he assessed the social and economic situation of the region.

According to the chieftain, the delay in the conclusion of the hospital is hindering the improvement of health services to the population providing that the only health centre in the municipal headquarters, with 15 beds, does not meet the demand and lacks many services to assist the users.

The traditional authorities also requested speedy completion of the rehabilitation and asphalting work and the restoration of the Ambuíla-Kipedro road, over a 97 kilometre.
