Quiculungo - The governor of Kwanza Norte, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, Friday in Quiculungo, 138 km from the capital Ndalatando, expressed dissatisfaction with the non-fulfilment in the execution of some works of the Integrated Plan of Municipal Intervention (PIIM).

Speaking during a meeting with the contractors responsible for carrying out the work, he said that if the situation prevails criminal liability mechanisms would be triggered against the defaulters.

Adriano Mendes de Carvalho pointed out by way of example the delays in the earthworks of the Pambo do Sonhe/Quiculungo section, of an extension of 16 kilometres and the construction of a seven classroom school, in the town of Huia Ngombe, in Samba Caju municipality, the latter having been paralysed for some months.

The earthmoving of the road, estimated at 747 million Kwanzas, began in May and is expected to end in September, under the responsibility of Chinese company Beijing Constrution Angola.

According to Núrio Tomás, the company's contractor, the construction work is at an execution level of 20 percent, when it should have been at 50 percent.

He said that the work had slowed down for several weeks due to situations of covid-19, as most of the technicians were Chinese and were in Luanda.
