Lubango - Lubango-based Mukanda International Airport, southern Huila province, received a commercial TAAG Dash Kwanza flight which after 147 days returned with 74 passengers at 02:12 pm under strictly measures of biosecurity surveillance.

The last commercial flight, a Boing 737-300, arrived in Huila province on 26 March, carrying 125 passengers.

The flight was scheduled to land at 01:20 pm, but the anxiety among passengers bound for Luanda and the others who were waiting for the return of their relatives have caused delay.

Other passengers to Luanda conducted the covid-19 tests.

Speaking to ANGOP, after the landing of the flight, António Conceição public employee said that he is on relief with the return after the over six months of absence of flights.

Mauro Santiago, another passenger, considered the opening of commercial flights a relief for many Angolans, even once a week.

Huila receives one flight every Sunday, flying 74 passengers.

Before covid-19 outbreak, TAAG performed flights to Huila every seven day, the most profitable destinations of the air company.
