Malanje - The Angolan government will continue to implement measures aimed at guaranteeing the country's economic and social development, improving the social conditions and the standard of living of the population, as well as moralizing society and restoring state authority.

This standing was expressed Friday, in the municipality of Quela, Malanje province, by the Minister of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland, João Ernesto dos Santos "Liberdade", intervening in the central act of January 4, Day of Martyrs of the Colonial Repression of Lower Cassanje.

He pointed out that combating bad practices that still afflict the administration of the state, such as corruption, nepotism, impunity, waste, misappropriation of the public purse and others are just some of the various measures reaffirmed by the minister that will continue to be taken into account by the Government.

On the other hand, he said that other actions aimed at reducing regional asymmetries and providing conditions for the harmonious development of the country are on the Government's agenda, and greater attention is being given to health, education, agriculture, energy and water, housing, construction of road infrastructures and others that will provide improvements in the country's progress and the living quality of Angolans.

With respect to January 4, 1961, João Ernesto dos Santos said that the date should constitute a common reference point for the reflection that is imposed around the long path taken by the Angolan people until the conquest of National Independence, on 11 November 1975, so we must celebrate with fervor and patriotic sense and with a high sense of solidarity with the people of Lower Cassanje.
